Blake Countess has been a pleasant surprise on a revived Michigan defense so far this season. He has won the starting spot at cornerback opposite J.T. Floyd and has started to make a big name for himself.
While he has been a key player for the Wolverines thus far, he might end up helping just as much on the recruiting trail. Michigan is back on the radar of wide receiver Stefon Diggs (Olney, Md./Good Counsel), Countess' former teammate, and Countess might be a factor in whether Diggs ends up choosing to play in Ann Arbor.
"At first I was a little shaky with Michigan, because I knew Blake was one of the best guys out there but he wasn't playing," he said. "Then I noticed that he's gotten the starting job. He worked for it and won it, and that makes me feel more comfortable that they'll play the best guys."
