Sypniewski snaps up scholarship
2013 commit realized under-radar role could lead to major college offer

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- For his entire life, people have never known how to pronounce the last name of Scott Sypniewski (Ottawa, Ill./Marquette). Teachers, friends and strangers have stumbled through it for years.
Sipe-nes-ski? No. Sip-nice-ski? Nope. Spin-ew-skee? Not even close.
But Sypniewski (pronounced Sip-new-ski) knows that if he does his job at Michigan, no one ever will know his name in Ann Arbor. And he's OK with that.
