WolverineNation recruiting writers asked Midwest regional coordinator Jared Shanker to join in on the discussion this week. Shanker, a New Jersey native and Penn State alum, has been covering Midwest recruiting for a year and a half.

1) Michigan has the top-ranked class in the Big Ten for now. Does that last through signing day?

Tom Van Haaren: This is a tough question because they're so close right now. I think Ohio State has a little more opportunity with higher-ranked players, so I think the Buckeyes will edge out Michigan. It will be slight, though, and doesn't take away from Michigan's class. It also could depend on what happens with corner Gareon Conley (Massillon, Ohio/Washington), who just took a visit to Ohio State. If he decides to flip to the Buckeyes, that would be a big swing.
