A junior running back with eight offers and 1,605 yards rushing and 32 touchdowns in seven games would most likely be considered one of the top prospects in his class. However, those statistics belong to sophomore prospect Damien Harris of Berea (Ky.) Madison Southern.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound back is turning heads and has been thrust into the spotlight because of his accomplishments. This early attention from schools such as Michigan, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky and Wake Forest among others is not only new to his family, but also to his town. In fact the state of Kentucky isn't typically known to produce a ton of elite-level athletes, so Harris could be paving a new path.
From the time he was 7 years old, Harris was always a standout on the field. As his mother, Lynn, watched him progress as he got older, she never thought it would bring her son this far.
