Mailbag: It's still early, and recruits often look for opportunities

WolverineNation runs a recruiting mailbag feature every other week and conducts a live chat in the weeks when the mailbag doesn't run. Here's a look at this week's questions from the readers:
Q: Zach, Brighton, Mich.: How much does the loss to Notre Dame really affect recruiting? Is that going to hurt Michigan at all with the 2014 recruits?
A: It's probably too early to tell yet, because there are a lot of factors that go in to recruiting. For one, it's still early in the season. I've said this before, but Michigan hasn't played a conference game yet, so they could still win the Big Ten. If Michigan wins the Big Ten, what do you think people remember more, how they lost to Alabama and Notre Dame, or the Big Ten championship?
