Gareon Conley went from playing football to kill time to being a top CB

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Gareon Conley (Massillon, Ohio/Washington) is the sixth-best cornerback and the No. 63 ranked player in the country according to the ESPN 150. He's one of Michigan's top commits, second only to quarterback Shane Morris.

Many are calling him the sleeper of the top prospects because his name wouldn't have come up in any kind of conversation for top prep players a year ago. And because he didn't even play football two years ago.

"Football was never my sport," Conley said. "I just started playing last year really, to stay in shape for basketball. I've been playing basketball since I was seven years old, but I was scared to play football when I was young because I didn't like contact."
