LSU earning "Cornerback U" tag
Peterson, Claiborne have set solid foundation for Tigers' stellar secondary

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Is it too soon to start calling LSU "Cornerback University?"
Sure, there are more than just defensive backs coming out of Tiger Stadium these days. LSU currently boasts 41 players in the NFL, ranking it among the best-represented schools in the league.
But the secondary has stolen the spotlight in recent seasons, starting last fall when Patrick Peterson secured All-America status and the Thorpe Award -- given to the nation's best defensive back -- on the way to being a top-five draft pick.
