New experiences and relationships factors for recruiting Sam Montgomery

Sam Montgomery made it clear from the beginning that he wanted to experience something new.
"I wanted to survive on my own away from my mom and away from all support," Montgomery said of his commitment to LSU in 2009. "I knew that if I could survive on my own away from everybody else, then when I got to the real world I'd survive."
"Building a fence" around the home state is a general philosophy for many programs, but the lure of a new experience is something to embrace for many prospects.
