UGA baseball: Position breakdowns

ATHENS, Ga. -- Most of the faces are the same on Georgia's baseball roster, but this season the Bulldogs expect a quite different result.

Ranked No. 25 in the USA Today/ESPN preseason coaches poll, the Bulldogs, who finished 33-32, 16-14 SEC in 2011, believe the confidence they developed during a remarkable late-season run last year and a demonstrably easier schedule will help them enter SEC play on a high note.

It also helps that eight starting position players return, along with the top two starting pitchers, Michael Palazzone and Alex Wood, as well as closer Tyler Maloof.
