BUFORD, Ga. -- Tri-Cities head coach Kenneth Miller had heard from several members of the media that offensive lineman Shamire Devine (East Point, Ga./Tri-Cities) was too much of a gentle giant. So before the linemen started their one-on-one drills at the NFTC on Saturday, Miller walked up to Devine and let him know that he needed to prove he had the mean streak needed to get it done in the trenches at the next level.
Devine answered the call, dominating the competition en route to earning OL MVP honors. The 6-foot-6, 340-pound prospect might have competed with a sense of urgency Saturday, but he has not changed his stance in regard to his recruitment.
"I am not in any rush to make my commitment," Devine said. "My decision will probably go into my senior season."
