VID Day could include surprises
Mailbag: Does Johnson's commitment mean UGA is done for 2013 D-line?

Should Georgia Bulldogs fans expect good news from this weekend's Very Important Dawg Day? Does the statement by new Bulldogs commitment DeAndre Johnson (Newnan, Ga./Northgate) about securing his spot signal the end of UGA's recruiting for the defensive line in the 2013 class? DawgNation answers these questions and more in this week's recruiting mailbag.
Courtjp: Do the Dawgs have a legitimate chance to sign Marquez North?
KA: Like many prospects from the Tarheel State, UNC will be in the mix for North (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek), considered one of the top overall prospects in the Southeast and one of the best wideouts in the country. The Florida Gators have recruited the state well in recent years, signing his teammate from last year, five-star offensive lineman D.J. Humphries, so I expect the Gators to be a strong contender for North, as well. But the Bulldogs have a chance because they sought the 6-foot-4 receiver early, hosting him for a game during the 2010 season, and bringing him in for the Mark Richt Camp last June. When I checked in on him last week, he was contemplating trying to make it back for VID Day but was not sure he would. Getting him on campus for a more in-depth look at the university is the next step for the coaches to solidify their place in North's top group.
