Kublanow working on Jones

UGA commit promises to keep up full press on close friend and Bama commit

When running back Tyren Jones (Marietta, Ga./Walton) committed to Alabama back in February, his immediate course of action was to start recruiting teammate and coveted offensive lineman Brandon Kublanow (Marietta, Ga./Walton) to join him at the next level. He succeeded in getting the 6-foot-2, 285-pound interior blocker to take a visit to Tuscaloosa for the A-Day spring scrimmage game in April. The defending national champions were taking a long look at Kublanow, but he arrived and exited without an offer.

It seems the Crimson Tide staff was tipped off that they shouldn't bother.

"I was talking to Coach [Kirby] Smart, and he said he was good friends with Coach [Mike] Bobo and Coach [Will] Friend," Jones said. "They talked, so they knew Brandon was thinking about committing to UGA, so they did not want to waste an offer."
