Ga. Junior Bowl sets stage for life

Organizers plan weeklong clinic and game to give players more than recruiting edge

Last year saw a program emerge in Georgia like no other, with a seven-day series of events and practices culminating in an all-star football game in Atlanta. But unlike other all-star games for graduating seniors, the weeklong Rising Senior Football Clinic, which culminates with the Georgia Junior Bowl, pits top juniors from the Peach State against each other.

The AT&T Georgia Junior Bowl will take place at 7 p.m. ET at Grady Stadium in Atlanta. The game will be nationally televised, live on ESPN3.

That is not all that sets this unique experience apart from others available to high school athletes. Founders Izell Reece and Joe Burns have teamed up with several companies and sponsors to build up several activities and seminars during the week to help maximize the potential in 90 of the top junior football players in Georgia, on and off the field.
