The Georgia Bulldogs took a big step today in their effort to add much-needed depth to the offensive line, as juco offensive lineman Mark Beard (Coffeyville, Kan./Coffeyville CC) committed. Beard grew up following Auburn and Tennessee, but he will suit up for a different Southeastern Conference school next year.
"I committed to Georgia," Beard said.
Originally a Troy signee out of Minor High School in Adamsville, Ala., Beard was recently named honorable mention NJCAA All-American. The 6-foot-4, 295-pound offensive lineman had taken official visits to Arkansas and Mississippi State in the last 10 days, and had just wrapped up his official to Georgia.
