ATHENS, Ga. -- The University of Georgia has picked up a new commitment for 2012 in quarterback Faton Bauta (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Dwyer).

"I feel relieved to know I will be a Bulldog," Bauta said Monday morning. "Athens is a great place and a great atmosphere, and I really enjoyed it. Mark Richt is probably the most honest guy I have ever met in my life. He is a very Christian man and lives up to it. The whole Dawg Nation is very loyal to the Bulldogs. Georgia is everything they say it is."

Richt had indicated during the summer that the Bulldogs were likely not going to take a quarterback in the 2012 class, but apparently he will make an exception for Bauta.
