ATHENS, Ga. -- Through the last decade, the University of Georgia has thrived on using wide receivers who are big and tall and can make plays downfield in the Bulldogs' pro-style offense. Former players such as Mohammed Massaquoi, A.J. Green, Kris Durham, Fred Gibson and Reggie Brown all made a name for themselves here by using a combination of size and athleticism to make plays for coach Mark Richt.

While the roster now includes rising stars such as Malcolm Mitchell and Michael Bennett, the Bulldogs are looking to bring in a dynamic talent at wide receiver for the 2012 class. One of their top targets, Cordarrelle Patterson (Hutchinson, Kan. /Hutchinson C.C.), definitely fits the bill.

The Blue Dragons are off to a 3-1 start, thanks much in part to their elite wideout. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound receiver has 21 receptions for 349 yards and six touchdowns, four rushes for 63 yards and four kickoff returns for 227 yards and two touchdowns. Georgia is hoping to make an impression on Patterson on the weekend of its senior banquet, an annual event that honors the team and has been highly successful in recruiting efforts through the years.
