On Friday night, 2013 quarterback Johnathon McCrary (Ellenwood, Ga./Cedar Grove) carved into Columbia like a surgeon, connecting on 8 of 10 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns. He also scored on a quarterback sneak.
Earlier in the week, he played surgeon at home, carving into himself. That's because a few days before the game things did not look too good for McCrary. In fact, the talented signal-caller had a hard time looking at anything at all.
"I had an infection above my eye, and the doctors told me to wait a couple weeks to let it heal," McCrary said. "But I had a game to play Friday, so I got a knife at home and I made a laceration in the side and pushed everything out and sealed it back up. It is still very swollen. I can barely see right now and I basically played tonight with only one eye."
2013 QB prospect Johnathon McCrary has a lot of respect for Mark Richt, and the fact UGA already has a QB for 2013 doesn't put him off at all.
