Dodge County's Leonard Floyd is mostly quiet, but his stats are plenty loud

ATHENS, Ga. -- Leonard Floyd (Eastman, Ga./Dodge County) did not attend any combines looking for stardom. Nor did the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Eastman native take to Facebook or Twitter to proclaim his greatness. Even after being offered by top-tier programs such as Alabama, Florida and Georgia, not much was heard at all from Floyd. But to those who knew him, that came as no surprise. "Sometimes when my wife picks Leonard up, he will go without talking in the car the entire trip to school," Dodge County assistant coach Ricky Collins said. "That is a 17-minute car ride. He is a quiet, humble kid. You cannot get too many words out of him." While not much of a talker, Floyd has been at the center of a number of recruiting conversations, especially in Athens. The defensive end, who grew up watching the Bulldogs on television, impressed the Georgia staff last July at their Dawg Night, leaving with his first scholarship offer.
