Four-star LB/Miami commit enjoys UGA visit, says coaches selling lack of depth

Four-star linebacker Raphael Kirby (Stone Mountain, Ga./Stephenson) was just trying to take things day by day. The 6-foot, 208-pound ESPNU 150 prospect was focusing on winning a state championship and preparing for a bright future at the University of Miami. But then a problem cropped up. The Hurricanes were hit with dozens of allegations of NCAA infractions involving a former booster giving illegal benefits to several players and prospects. Those allegations created a giant red flag for Kirby, who has prided himself on being a student first and an athlete second, and it thrust him seemingly back to square one in his recruitment. "The allegations at Miami shocked me, just like it did everyone else," Kirby said. "I decided to take visits, and Georgia is not far from where I live. So I decided to go ahead and take a visit."
