Grading the Gators

Florida is halfway through its SEC schedule in second place with a 7-2 record

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida has just passed the mid-point of its Southeastern Conference season, and it's time to evaluate what has happened through the first nine games.

The No. 7 Gators (19-5, 7-2 SEC) are in second place behind top-ranked Kentucky (24-1, 10-0). They are still in good shape to be one of the four teams to earn a first-round bye in the SEC Tournament, because Mississippi State (18-5, 5-3) and Vanderbilt (16-7, 5-3) are tied for third place, and the Gators beat both already.
