GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Brent Pease spent just two seasons in the Southeastern Conference, but Florida coach Will Muschamp isn't worried at all about his new offensive coordinator recruiting against the likes of Nick Saban and Les Miles.

Pease, Muschamp said, will more than hold his own, because he has battled Pease for recruits before -- and lost.

During the one season Muschamp spent as the defensive coordinator at Valdosta State (2000), he was recruiting a defensive tackle out of Valdosta, Ga./Lowndes County High School named Vincent "Sweet Pea" Burns. He should have been an easy get -- they were in the same town, for gosh sakes -- but Pease was able to sway Burns and convinced him to sign with Northern Arizona instead.
