The Florida career of quarterback John Brantley is over with a whimper

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- John Brantley's Florida career ended pretty quietly. He didn't finish with a national championship like Chris Leak or by setting BCS bowl records like Tim Tebow. Just a nondescript day -- 12-for-16, 132 yards, one touchdown, one interception -- in the Gators' 24-17 victory over Ohio State. But then, did we really expect it to go any differently? Brantley's final game pretty much summed up his two years as UF's starting quarterback: OK. He was 15-9 as a starter and threw for 300 yards just once (329 against Furman) and only threw more than two touchdown passes in a game once (four against Furman).
