Florida commit Matt Jones uses adversity, fatherhood as fuel for greatness

SEFFNER, Fla. -- Armwood High School running back Matt Jones has been through more in his 18 years than most have gone through in a lifetime.
Ranked one of the top running backs in the Southeast, Jones is verbally committed to play for the Florida next season. Success, though, hasn't come easy.
Jones, who is the youngest of three brothers and has never met his father, grew up in a single family home in Tampa. Jones' mother, Barbara Singleton, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer when Jones was 16.
