Candidates to stand out
The Gators need contributions from everywhere in order to compete next fall
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- If Florida is going to have a chance to win a national championship, the Gators obviously are going to need to get great production from their best players.
Quarterback Jeff Driskel, running back Matt Jones, linebacker Antonio Morrison, buck Ronald Powell and cornerback Marcus Roberson will need to be among the best in the Southeastern Conference at their positions. They'll have to have the best seasons of their careers.
But they won't be able to do it without lots of help. Other players are going to have to step up, too. Some are obvious -- like receiver Quinton Dunbar and punter Kyle Christy -- but others, not so much. Here are five under-the-radar guys who need to play well in 2013 for the Gators to be able to compete with Alabama for the national title:
