TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Potential is a tricky thing. You marvel at the possibilities, forming grand expectations at your mind. You see what could be and imagine a future in which it all comes to fruition.
But potential is nothing more than what could be, and sometimes, what never will.
College football is a great study of potential. Sites like this one dissect and discuss it every day. We measure it and place a value on it. We quantify it in stars and rank and re-rank and rank again all based upon projections.
