MOBILE, Ala. -- The country might not know who Tre Williams is yet, but LeFlore High School running back Mario Steele-Norris needs no introduction to the 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker. The two met last fall during the regular season, and it was an encounter Steele-Norris would rather forget.
Williams, from St. Paul's Episcopal School, knocked the LeFlore player off his feet, not once, not twice but three times in the Saints' 38-14 victory. Williams remembers one distinctly.
"We played LeFlore at Ladd Peebles Stadium, and I was playing strong safety," Williams said. "We were in Cover 2, and both the safeties were back. The running back ran like a seam route. He caught it, looked me eye-to-eye, and I knocked him off his feet."
