COLUMBUS, Ohio -- There wasn't a ton of hype coming into the Columbus Elite 11, but there should have been, as there was plenty of talent on hand.
Top performersAs the competition went on, the top performers started to separate themselves from the group. In the last drill of the day, the top six QBs -- Michigan commit Shane Morris (Warren, Mich./DeLaSalle), Notre Dame commit Malik Zaire (Kettering, Ohio/Archbishop Alter), Stanford commit Ryan Burns (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge), Max Staver (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood), Luke Del Rio (Jacksonville, Fla./Jacksonville Episcopal) and Purdue commit Danny Etling (Terre Haut, Ind./South Vigo) -- were put through a series of fast-paced passes consecutively. The drill simulated being in a pressure situation and gave the quarterbacks different checks and routes. Del Rio was a sleeper pick, as he performed well throughout the day but didn't come in as one of the names to watch. He showed good composure in the final drill and made a lot of big throws.
