Bold 2014 recruiting predictions
Signing day for the Class of 2014 is still more than five months away, but we're starting the sprint toward college football's second season now that games are mere hours away from kickoff. You never know what will happen, especially when dealing with 17- and 18-year-old recruits, but here are 10 bold predictions for what we'll see on national signing day.
Alabama will sign the best class -- again
OK, so maybe this one isn't so bold. But considering the amount of talent in LSU's back yard, it would be awfully impressive for the Tide to emerge with the No. 1 class for the third straight season. All along, I've projected an SEC team to finish with the top class for the ninth straight season, and at this point in the recruiting cycle, there's plenty of evidence to support that hypothesis. Nick Saban's biggest competition will likely come from LSU. If the Tigers can complete an in-state run that includes running back Leonard Fournette, the nation's No. 1 player, then they might have enough firepower to knock the Tide from their perch. But the key word is might, because Bama is cleaning up.
