SEC fall recruiting capsules

With another season about to start, and less than six months until signing day, here's a look at how the SEC is faring on the recruiting trail.David Cornwell, No. 2 ATH Bo Scarbrough, No. 1 outside linebacker Christian Miller and, most recently, landed No. 1 offensive guard Ross Pierschbacher, who switched his commitment from Iowa. The Tide have put together a strong offensive line class led by ESPN 300 members Pierschbacher, Viane Talamaivao and J.C. Hassenauer. Not including Scarbrough, who just transferred from a school in Alabama to IMG Academy in Florida, the Tide have commitments from 14 out-of-state players.
Who they want: The biggest name out there is running back Leonard Fournette, the top overall player in the ESPN 300. There's not a need at running back in Tuscaloosa, but Fournette is in the same category as Trent Richardson a few years back. Though Bama has met many needs along the line, offensive tackle Cameron Robinson is the best offensive line prospect in the country, and the Tide are in his top two along with LSU. On defense, five-stars Da'Shawn Hand, defensive end Lorenzo Carter and Marlon Humphrey are at the top of Alabama's board.
Fall storyline: Alabama and LSU will have some major recruiting battles going forward. The Tide and Tigers are battling it out for top prospects such as Fournette, Robinson and Marlon Humphrey. The Tide already have a solid class, but if they can win a few of these battles, they will finish with another stellar recruiting class.
Bold prediction: Nick Saban will once again finish strong, and the Tide will finish with the nation's top-ranked class for the third straight year.
