Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss keeping top recruits in-state

If there's one thing that can be said about top recruits from Mississippi, it's that they are loyal to their in-state schools.

Of the top 20 players in the Magnolia State, 14 have committed to either Ole Miss or Mississippi State. Five of the other six are still uncommitted but have been offered by both SEC programs. Two-star wide receiver Tevaris McCormick (Biloxi, Miss./Biloxi) is the only player in the top 20 who ventured out of state, verbally committing to South Alabama.

Skill-position players are strong in the state. Quarterback Ryan Buchanan (Jackson, Miss./Jackson Prep), an Ole Miss commit, and running back Kailo Moore (Rosedale, Miss./West Bolivar), a Mississippi State commit, are both ESPN 300 players.
