Kansas not real deep

The biggest sports draw in the state of Kansas arguably is Jayhawks men's college basketball. While high school football has its place and popularity, fans in recent years haven't been treated to an abundance of elite college prospects.

The 2013 recruiting class has five players listed as three-star athletes. Leading the charge is Jerel Morrow (Emporia, Kan./Emporia), a dual-sport athlete who has committed to Oklahoma State. Morrow is projected to play cornerback in the Big 12, but he also could be a valuable member of the Cowboys' track and field squad. Morrow won the long jump at the Kansas Class 5A state meet.

Four of the top six players from Kansas will play on offense. That number could jump to five if Oklahoma State chooses to use Morrow as a wide receiver.
