North Carolina's coaching change has cost it one Shrine Bowl player. Another could be following in his footsteps.
The Tar Heels' decision to hire Larry Fedora, who favors the spread option, understandably concerned four-star tight end Justin Meredith from Anderson (S.C.) T.L. Hannah. North Carolina's highest rated commitment is best suited for a pro-style offense, which isn't exactly Fedora's style.
"I had a very close relationship with North Carolina and that's why I was committed there," Meredith said. "But the new coach they brought in, Coach Fedora, he's a great guy and a great coach but I felt like his system wasn't a great fit for me."
