Before he uttered a word during Monday morning's news conference, Kevin Sumlin was presented with a maroon blazer and a white visor to match his striped tie. The visor displayed the Texas A&M logo.
Sumlin was introduced as the new head coach at A&M, and not only did he do the traditional meet and greet all new coaches do, but perhaps most importantly, Sumlin put recruits on notice that Texas A&M was coming.
"We're going to hit the ground running," Sumlin said. "We'll be out recruiting this afternoon. We want to head into the SEC with one of the best recruiting classes in the history of the program.
Texas A&M recruits didn't like that Mike Sherman was fired, but they're excited by the hire of Kevin Sumlin.
