Jameis Winston will miss signing day
Nation's top QB playing in all-star game and wants to be with family when he decides

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- When most of the nation's top prospects sign their national letters of intent on Wednesday, Feb. 1, there will be one notable exception: Hueytown (Ala.) High School's Jameis Winston, who is No. 11 in the ESPNU 150 and the nation's top QB.
"I don't think I will sign on signing day," said Winston, who is part of the Alabama squad at the Mississippi-Alabama Classic. "I am playing in the USA versus the world and the game is that day. I want to make sure I am home with my family when I sign."
It's not like Winston, a Florida State commit who is also one of the nation's top baseball prospects, is doing this just to prolong the process or to draw attention to himself. That's the last thing he wants.
