For many, pressure separates the contenders from the pretenders. For quarterback Skyler Windmiller (Shawnee, Kan./Mill Valley), it's another word in the dictionary.
Since elementary school, Windmiller has been groomed to be a quarterback who isn't afraid to take chances. He's also been groomed to be a quarterback that uses football savvy and a high intelligence to get his team victories. On Friday, Windmiller will lead Mill Valley to the Kansas Class 5A playoffs Friday against Shawnee Heights in a first-round game.
Windmiller has thrown for nearly 1,800 yards and 22 touchdowns with only four interceptions this season. He threw for a season-high 384 yards and five touchdowns in Mill Valley's second game of the season against Bonner Springs (Kan.).
