No beef with McDonald's selections

One of the simple tenets of life says you know you're doing a good job not when you're getting patted on the back, but rather when you don't hear any complaints. My guess is the phone isn't ringing off the hook at McDonald's headquarters this week, mainly because its high school All-American Game selections are solid all-around.

The selections leave little room for debate and that's a good thing. Everyone will have their opinions and there are always players who have legitimate beefs; that's never going to change. To me, it's a successful year if the "locks" wind up on the team and there are few suspect selections. By those standards, I'd say this was an accurate representation of the talent pool, given the fact that the game does not afford fifth-year prospects the chance to play.
