Build your defense around Vaughters for he is a one man wrecking crew who creates havoc. This prospect has the size, athleticism, playing strength and speed to be a dominant player at the major level of competition early in his career. Also plays tight end displaying good quickness and explosive blocking ability. Shows excellent flexibility, quickness and balance; does a great job getting the early read on run plays to and away. Is a very good downhill player vs. the inside run, showing the upper body strength to take on and defeat blockers; can avoid and beat blockers with quickness; is capable of working through and over traffic with great pursuit habits. This guy has a great limp leg technique which allows him to step over bodies in pursuit of the football. His unique quality is the possibility of lining him up at a variety of positions; as an outside linebacker we see the ability to take on and defeat blockers at the line of scrimmage; can shed with excellent backside closing quickness. Plays very effectively with his hand in the dirt; can read and react, is quick off blocks while showing the toughness and playing strength to hold the point of attack regardless of his size. Because of his talent this player could be aligned in a variety if defensive sets when game planning. Demonstrates quickness when working to the flat area in pass coverage; displays the speed and athleticism we feel is necessary to cover 2nd and 3rd receivers. As a pass rusher his quick hands, change of direction skill and burst to the QB are great assets. Shows explosive tackling ability; will wrap and knock'm back. Is always around the ball making big hits, while forcing and recovering fumbles. There is no quit in this guy; he plays non stop! With a great senior year, Vaughters could very well step in as an immediate starter.
