Will cover ground well as a zone defender. Has enough athletic ability to recover if caught out of position. Displays good timing in blitz situations to shoot gaps and make QB move outside of the pocket.
Coney will need to continue to add size and weight but has some physical upside. Is relentless in pursuit of ball carrier and will make plays. Has the ability to potentially develop into a Power Conference linebacker in college.
STRENGTHS: Displays good height and build to potentially add more size and strength. Does a good job of moving laterally and scraping over blocks to locate runner. Does not always stack and shed blocks quickly. Can get caught out of position at times versus misdirection.
