Williams is an effective receiver with deceptive long speed; demonstrates the ability to get behind coverage for big gains. Has the size and athleticism for the wide receiver position at the major level of competition. His frame appears capable of adding some bulk over time provided his quickness and playing speed are not compromised; does a good job returning punts and kickoffs, displaying sure hands along with the willingness to take the ball up the middle. On occasion he lines up as a tailback demonstrating a downhill running style with good over the pads finish. We see good initial quickness and body control releasing off the line of scrimmage; commands respect and is able to pressure defensive backs with his immediate push; does a good job using his foot quickness and quick hands to get off of press coverage. Has enough speed to get on top of defenders when running deep routes; shows good sideline awareness. Although we see the need to polish his route running skills we like his ability to get in and out of breaks while demonstrating good patience vs. zone coverage; settles into open areas and doesn't cover himself. His hands appear natural and strong; has very good ball concentration along with the body control necessary to make the contested out of the frame catch. This guy has the wiggle and burst necessary to make defenders miss and get into space for additional yardage. Although Williams is presently flying under the radar as a major level prospect we feel his athleticism and production warrant continued evaluation as the season progresses.
