The New York native has a typical city game as he is extremely quick and capable of breaking his man down off the dribble at virtually anytime. He puts immediate pressure on the opposition by pushing the ball hard up the floor and immediately probing the defense with the dribble. The lefty changes direction fluidly inside the lane and is capable of finishing inside with a variety of high arching floaters or threading the needle with some crafty interior passes. Although he has much improved his decision making and ability to run a team his perimeter jump shot is still a major liability. Defenders have the luxury of playing way off Pugh and daring him to shoot it as he is both unwilling to take too many shots from the perimeter and incapable of converting a high percentage. Defensively, his quickness allows him to do a great job of pressuring the ball in both full-court and half-court situations.
