New playoff could benefit SEC
A college football playoff format being discussed this week won't be slowing the SEC
As college basketball enters the stretch run of its regular season, and the American sports spotlight continues to shine on the Knicks' Jeremy Lin, BCS administrators are having a relatively inconspicuous meeting in Dallas this week to further discuss the future of college football's postseason.
It's their second meeting of 2012. The first was held Jan. 10 in New Orleans, and among other things, it provided a launching pad for several playoff proposals. Expect those proposals and a few new ones to be a major topic of conversation again this week, although no final decision will be made until at least April and probably not until summer.
