Ranking CFB's best offenses
Ducks, Aggies among the nation's most explosive, efficient offenses in 2013
While we are only at the halfway point of the 2013 college football season, it's already clear that high-powered offenses are the focal point of many of the nation's top teams. And even those on the fringe or outside of the Top 25 are posting monster point totals, with some clubs scoring in the 60s on a semi-regular basis.
So which are the top offenses in college football? To determine that, I evaluated some of the nation's best via three categories, including performance against level of competition, consistency and quarterback play.
Here's a ranking of the cream of the offensive crop so far in 2013.
1. Oregon Ducks
No surprise here. Oregon has not missed a beat with the departure of coach Chip Kelly and the leadership of new skipper Mark Helfrich. Marcus Mariota's second year in the offense has paid early dividends and sets up a rematch with Stanford's physical defense when the two go to battle Nov. 7.
