CFB Preview: Picks and prospects
Title picks, Heisman picks, top prospects and even Johnny Football
1. Which team is your pick to win the BCS title?
Todd McShay: Alabama Crimson Tide
I'm selling out and going with Alabama. It's hard to pick anyone else when you compare the Crimson Tide to other teams in terms of their talent level, coaching and experience. The schedule is by no means easy, but it sets up nicely by SEC standards. The biggest personnel question they have is on the offensive line, having had two OL taken in the top 11 picks of the 2013 NFL draft (Chance Warmack, D.J. Fluker) and veteran leader Barrett Jones taken in the fourth. I'll be watching for the potential of that unit early, since having good O-line play is critical for what Alabama wants to do offensively.
Despite the departures, this team is no stranger to losing talent (Alabama won national titles in the 2011 and 2012 seasons after losing four first-round picks in each of the previous drafts), the defense is absolutely loaded again (anchored by LB C.J. Mosley, who I think is going to be a superstar) and the Crimson Tide brings back a quarterback who has won two national championships (AJ McCarron) as well as two of the nation's top skill-position stars in RB T.J. Yeldon and WR Amari Cooper.
