Trent Richardson's Heisman shot

Now that Week 13 of the college football season is in the books, here is my stock report from this past weekend's games. As always, I'll examine players who played well during the weekend and helped their stocks rise while also looking at the players who disappointed and caused their stocks to fall. This week, a couple of running backs saw their stocks rise.

Stock up

South Carolina Gamecocks QB Connor Shaw
Shaw accounted for 317 (210 passing, 107 rushing) of South Carolina's 420 total yards in a 34-13 win over Clemson, and he's playing with more confidence. Shaw seems to be cutting loose, rather than buckling under the pressure of coach Steve Spurrier breathing down his neck and veteran Stephen Garcia waiting in the wings. Part of that is because Shaw has been given the green light to tuck the ball and run, and he's been aggressive when opportunities have been presented. Garcia is a tough, gritty runner, but Shaw is a legitimate dual threat with speed, vision and even a bit of power.

Michigan Wolverines QB Denard Robinson
Robinson accounted for all five Michigan touchdowns -- three passing, two rushing -- in the Wolverines' 40-34 win over Ohio State, a victory that snapped a seven-game losing streak to their bitter rival. I've been hard on Robinson at times this season, but against the Buckeyes he carried over the momentum and confidence he built against Nebraska. I was impressed by his patience as a passer, and he took advantage of excellent pass protection inside the pocket, completing 14 of 17 passes.
