Changes to the BCS pecking order

The losses this Saturday by Stanford and Boise State not only simplified the national title picture, but caused some significant movement in the pecking orders of other BCS games as well. Here is my weekly look at the current BCS projections and the next teams in line for each of the 10 bids.

Allstate BCS National Championship Game

When: Jan. 9, 2012, 8:30 p.m. EST on ESPN

Current prediction: LSU Tigers vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys

Next up for BCS No. 1 and No. 2 spots: Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma, Arkansas

I've still got LSU and Oklahoma State facing off for the national title, but the order of the teams waiting in the wings to steal a bid has changed. Stanford and Boise State are both out of the picture, and Alabama is just one OSU loss from moving up to the top line.

I also moved Oregon ahead of Oklahoma here, for one simple reason: I'm getting the sense that there are very few voters that want to see the Sooners play in the national championship game. That loss to Texas Tech continues to look worse as the season goes on.
