Projecting the BCS bowl picture
Here are the favorites -- and the rest of the contenders -- for each BCS bid
Not much changed in terms of my BCS bowl predictions after this weekend's results, but there is plenty of movement among the teams that are next in line to claim each of the 10 bids.
Just a few of the things worth keeping an eye on: the pecking order of the one-loss teams that could sneak back into the title game equation, Boise State's championship game chances and the at-large berth possibilities for several Big Ten teams.
Here are this week's BCS projections, along with the next teams in line if the favorites at the top falter.
Allstate BCS National Championship Game
Current prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Next up for BCS No. 1 and No. 2 spots: LSU, Stanford, Boise State, Oklahoma
As I wrote last week, there's still a possibility a one-loss team could play for the BCS title. The loser of Saturday's Alabama-LSU contest will join Oklahoma as a one-loss team in the mix next week, and the outcome of that game will have an effect on the title hopes of two other one-loss teams: the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Oregon Ducks.
