Landry Jones impressive in Week 6

The Oklahoma QB was terrific against Texas; Florida State's QBs struggled

Now that Week 6 of the college football season is in the books, here is my stock report from this weekend's games. As always, I'll examine players who played well during the weekend and saw their stock rise while also looking at the players who disappointed and saw their stock fall. This week, Oklahoma gets praise for its dominant performance against Texas, while a pair of Florida State quarterbacks saw their stocks go in the wrong direction.

The Sooners could have cruised after jumping out to a 34-10 halftime lead against Texas. Instead, Oklahoma outscored Texas 21-7 in the second half, and I've never seen Venables more animated on the sideline. There had to be an element of payback for Stoops and Venables against Longhorns offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin, who held the same position at Boise State when the Broncos upset Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl.

The OU defense played harder in the 55-17 blowout than in any other game this season, and the versatility of players like LB/DE Ronnell Lewis, and OLB/S hybrids Corey Nelson and Tony Jefferson showed up all night. The Sooners have the kind of speed that forces opposing quarterbacks to make quick, sound decisions to have any chance, and the young Texas QB duo of David Ash and Case McCoy was completely overwhelmed.
