How to bet the BCS title game
Line analysis and ATS picks from Vegas experts on the national championship
In the final year of the Bowl Championship Series (1998-2013), Florida State will be playing Auburn at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. Florida State will be playing in its fourth national title game (1998, 1999, 2000, 2013) in the BCS era, while Auburn will be playing in its second national title game in the past four years (2010 and 2013).
One of Auburn's goals in this national title game will be to try and contain Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston. In the BCS era, Winston will be the 10th Heisman Trophy winner to play in the national title game; the previous nine hold a record of 3-6 straight up and ATS in the final game. Going all the way back to 1993, Heisman Trophy winners are just 7-7 SU and 5-9 ATS in their bowl game for that particular season.
According to ESPN Insider's PickCenter, the public is currently backing Florida State at a clip of 58 percent at a spread of minus-9 against Auburn.
Let's get some analysis of the line from Jay Kornegay of the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and an ATS pick on the game from four wiseguys:
Matchup: Auburn Tigers versus Florida State Seminoles
Spread: Opened Florida State minus-7; now Florida State minus-8.5/-9
Total: Opened 63.5; now 67.5
