This season the Baylor Bears have reached a set of unprecedented heights, including the club's first Big 12 championship, first BCS bowl invitation, first 11-win season and the team's first top-five ranking in 60 years. All of this speaks to just how far head coach Art Briles has brought a program that had been legendarily bad prior to his arrival.

This turnaround has made Briles one of many candidates for the Texas Longhorns head-coaching job, but he doesn't have to go to Austin to make another run at national championship contention next season. There are a number of reasons to think that the Bears can restock their graduation losses and land one of the four spots in the inaugural College Football Playoff next season.
