A handful of Week 12 favorites survived tests to keep conference championship hopes alive, including Central Florida, UCLA, Auburn, Michigan State, Oklahoma State and Louisville. Duke and USC did the same as small home underdogs, but heading into Week 13, few conference races are settled. Florida State has clinched the ACC Atlantic and Northern Illinois the MAC West. Fresno State has all but clinched the West division of the Mountain West, and the same can be said of both Big Ten divisions. All the rest are still up for grabs.
TCU, West Virginia and Florida were among the teams knocked from bowl contention in Week 12. This will be a banner year for at-large bowl bids, as the SEC and Big 12 will not be able to fill their appointed bowl slots, while the American Athletic and Big Ten may also be a team short.
My 6-4 mark in Week 12 leaves me at 57-63 on the year, and Week 13 features plenty of championship drama on the slate. Arizona State, Michigan State and Ohio State are among those that can clinch division crowns, while Boise State and Baylor can clear their last significant hurdles.
